Processing Refunds
Your terminal is able to process refunds in 3 different ways. Your terminal has a Refund Password which has been
enabled to minimise the risk of fraudulent refunds being processed. When you first receive your terminal this will be
the same as you Supervisor Password and we recommend that you change your Refund Password before you
commence trading. For guidance on how to do this please see page 11.
1. Chip and PIN Refund
This is the most common form of processing a refund. When processing a refund there may be
additional charges from your payment processing provider. To confirm these charges please speak to
your payment processor.
2. Magnetic Swipe Refund
If the customer’s card does not have a chip embedded into the card then you can process the refund by using the
magnetic swipe function on the side of the terminal. When processing a refund there may be additional charges from
your payment processing provider. To confirm these charges please speak to your payment processor.
3. Customer Not Present / Mail Order Refund
This form of refund will primarily be used for businesses that take payments over the telephone. When processing a
refund there maybe additional charges from your payment processing provider. To confirm these charges please
speak to your payment processor.
