indicator.
Understanding the Printer Sounds
The PB51 plays sounds in response to several actions that you can
take with the printer. Use the following table to understand when the
sounds occur and what they mean.
Understanding the Ready-to-Work Indicator
Indicator State
Description
OWhen the light is o, it can mean one of severa l
conditions:
tThe printer is in Standby mode.
tThe printer is in Info mode.
tThe printer is in Setup mode.
On The PB51 is powered on and operating.
Blinking A blinking light can mean one of several co nditions:
tThe printer is out of paper.
tThe media cover is open.
tThere is a printer error that requires you to perfo rm an
action. For a list of possible problems, see
“Troubleshooting the PB51” on page 42 .
Understanding the Printer Sounds
Sound Occurs When:
Power
tYou supply power (battery or AC adapter) to the
printer.
tThe PB51 starts charging the battery.
Hardware You open the media door, close the media door, or insert a
cable.
Button You press any of the PB51 buttons.
Error
tThe printer cannot feed paper or print a job because of
a hardware issue such as the media door open, a paper
jam, or there is no media.
tAn error occurs such as a paper jam or a print erro r.
