8.1Transport-Generalinformation

issecuredusinga4-pointtie-downsystem

systemiscertified.
–Makesuretheweightofthemobilitydevicedoesnot
exceedtheweightforwhichthetie-downsystem

–Ifyouareunsurehowmuchyourmobilitydevice
weighs,thenyoumusthaveitweighedusingcalibrated
scales.
8.2Transferringthemobilitydevicetoavehicle
WARNING!
Themobilitydeviceisatriskoftippingoverifit
istransferredtoavehiclewhiletheuserisstill
seatedinthemobilitydevice
–Transferthemobilitydevicewithouttheuser
wheneverpossible.
–Ifthemobilitydevicewiththeuserhastobe
transferredtoavehicleusingaramp,ensurethatthe
rampdoesnotexceedtheratedslope(referto12
Technicaldata,page55
).
–Ifthemobilitydevicehastobetransferredtoavehicle
usingarampthatdoesexceedtheratedslope(refer
to12Technicaldata,page55),awinchmustthenbe
used.Anattendantcanthensafelymonitorandassist
thetransferprocess.
–Alternatively,aplatformliftmaybeused.
–Ensurethatthetotalweightofthemobilitydevice
includingtheuserdoesnotexceedthemaximum
permittedtotalweightfortheramporplatformlift.
–Themobilitydeviceshouldalwaysbetransferredto
avehiclewiththebackrestinanuprightposition,
theseatlifterloweredandtheseattiltintheupright
position(refertoDrivingupanddowngradients).
