5Maintenance
5.1CleaningtheCabinetFilter
DANGER!
–Topreventelectricalshock,ALWAYSdisconnectconcentratorfromelectricaloutletbeforeservicing.
Ataminimum,preventivemaintenanceMUSTbeperformedaccordingtothemaintenancerecordguidelines.Inplaceswithhighdustor
sootlevels,maintenancemayneedtobeperformedmoreoften.
Refertorecyclinginformationfollowinglocalgoverningordinancesandrecyclingplansregardingdisposaloftheconcentratoror
components.
CAUTION!
RiskofDamage
Toavoiddamagetotheinternalcomponentsoftheunit:
–DONOToperatetheconcentratorwithoutthefilterinstalledorwithadirtyfilter.
Thereisonecabinetfilterlocatedonthebackofthecabinet.
1.RemovetheairscoopAfrombackofunit.
2.RemovethefilteraccesspanelBbypressingdownoncentertabCandpullingpanelout.
3.RemovecabinetfilterDfromfilteraccesspanelandcleanasneeded.
Environmentalconditionsthatmayrequiremorefrequentinspectionandcleaningofthefiltersincludebutarenotlimitedto:
highdust,airpollutants,etc.
4.Cleanthecabinetfilterwithavacuumcleanerorwashwithamildliquiddishdetergentandwater,rinsethoroughly.
5.Thoroughlydrythefilterandinspectfromfraying,crumbling,tearsandholes.Replacefilterifanydamageisfound.
6.Reinstallcabinetfilterontofilteraccesspanel
7.Reinstallfilteraccesspanelintounit.
8.Reinstallairscoopontobackofunit.
5.2CheckingtheOutletHEPAFilter
TheoutletHEPAfiltercanbecheckedduringpreventivemaintenanceorbetweenpatientsbyperformingthefollowingprocedure.
1.TurntheconcentratorOn(I)andadjusttheflowmetertothemaximumflowrateoftheunit.
2.Observetheflowmeter'sflowindicatorwhileconnectinga15.2m(50ft)cannulatubetotheoutletbarboftheconcentrator(notshown).
3.Iftheflowindicatorfluctuates,theoutletHEPAfiltermayneedreplacement.Referto9.1Troubleshooting,page48
