thewaterinsidethewaterheaterbedrained.
Tomanuallydrainthewater:
1. Shutoffcoldwatersupplyandgassupply.
2. Turnoffthetemperaturecontroller.
3. Disconnectthepowertothewaterheater.
4. Removethedraincapsonbothisolaonvalvesandopenboth
valvesabovethecaps(blueandredvalvehandles).‐OR‐Openhot
waterdrainplugattheho
twateroutlet.
5. Removewaterfiltertodrainthecoldwater.

Toresumenormaloperaon:
1. Confirmthatallwaterdrainplugsareremoved,thatthegassupply
isturnedoff,andthatalltapsareclosed.
2. Screwinthewaterfilterinthecoldwaterinlet.
3. Replacethedraincapsandclosebothisolaonvalves.‐OR‐Screw
inthehotwa
terdrainplug.
4. Openthecoldwatersupply.
5. Openatapandconfirmthatwaterflows,andthenclose.
6. Turnonthepower.
7. Aerconfirmingthatthetemperaturecontrollerisoff,turnonthe
gassupply.
8. Turnonthetemperaturecontroller.
Runningalowvolumeofwaterthroughthewaterheatertopreventfreezing
Ifthetemperatureexceedstheabilityofthewaterheatertofreeze
protectitself,orifpowerislost,thefollowingstepsmaypreventthe
waterheaterandexternalpipingfromfreezing.(Unitsconnectedwith
J‐LINK(2unitlink)shouldbedrainedtopreventfreezingifnotinuse.)
1. Turnthewaterheateroff.
2. Closethegassupplyvalve.
3. Turnonahotwatertaptoflowwaterab
out0.1gal/minorwhere
thestreamisabout0.2inchesthick.
Whenthewaterheaterorexternalpipinghasfrozen
1. Donotoperatethewaterheaterifitortheexternalpipingisfrozen.
2. Closethegasandwatervalvesandturnoffthepower.
3. Waitunlthewaterthaws. Checkbyopeningthewatersupplyvalve.
4. Checkthewaterheaterandthepipingforleaks.
