General
Check (Condition)
Notice: Do not modify or install non JCB approved components to the engine induction system, otherwise
the engine emissions will be compromised.
1. Make the machine safe.
2. Get access to induction system.
3. Check the system hoses for:
3.1. Condition.
3.2. Damage.
3.3. Security.
4. Replace the system hoses if necessary.
Outer Element
Replace
Notice: The inner element of the engine air filter must be replaced with a new one. Do not attempt to clean
or wash the old element.
Notice: Clean the outer element when the air filter warning light illuminates on the instrument panel. The
outer element must be cleaned twice only.
Notice: Do not run the engine with the air filter element removed.

1. A new inner element must be fitted at least every second time the outer element is changed. As a reminder,
mark the inner element with a felt tipped pen each time the outer element is changed.
2. Make the machine safe.
3. Stop the engine and remove the starter key.
4. Open the engine cover.
