Dismantling (cont’d)
33 Extract spool 156, taking care not to damage the sliding
surfaces.
Note: If inspection reveals that either the spool 156 or the
valve body 155 need replacing, both should be renewed as a
matching pair.
34 Remove the ‘O’ ring 136 from plug 160.
Remove the ‘O’ ring from the groove on the rear flange
101.
Note: Steps 35 and 36 should only be carried out if pilot
valve 163 needs renewing. Otherwise do not disturb.
35 Using a sharp pointed centre punch, locate the punch in
the notch on ring 165 and hit with a hammer to remove
it. Renovate the retaining groove which will have been
damaged during ring removal.
36 Turn rear flange 101 over and remove stopper 164,
spring 166 and valve 163. If necessary, connect a
hydraulic hand pump (see Service Tools, Section 1) to
the servo port A and use the pump to force out the
stopper.
! CAUTION
When using compressed air, wear safety glasses and
gloves. Do not direct compressed air at your skin.
8-3-4-2
Note: Do not remove either of plugs 152 unless a defect is
