Dismantling (cont’d)
56 Turn the track gearbox over again. Remove the three
snap rings 20, marking each one so that it can be
returned to its original location during assembly.
57 Loosen and remove the three reamer bolts 19.
Note: Because thread locking compound is used on the
reamer bolts, thermal seizure can occur, making removal
difficult. Loosen the bolts as slowly as possible. If a bolt will
not release, retighten it and then try again. Patiently
persevere until the bolts unscrew.
Note: Having been removed the reamer bolts should ideally
not be re-used. If circumstances force their re-use, they
should first be cleaned up and renovated as detailed at the
appropriate point in the assembly instructions which follow
later.
58 Make alignment marks on holding flange 3 and spindle 2
and then remove the flange. If either the holding flange
or the spindle need replacing, replace both.
59 Turn the track gearbox over and remove the hub/spindle
securing jigs fitted at step 55.
