15 Coat the threads of new† reamer bolts 19 with JCB
Threadlocker and Sealer, and the reamer surfaces with a
thermal seizure prevention lubricant. Progressively and
evenly tighten the reamer bolts to seat the holding
flange 3 evenly with bearing 21. Finally tighten each bolt
to a torque of 348.2 - 475.7 Nm (257 - 351 lbf ft).
†Note: If the original reamer bolts must be re-used:
a Use a wire brush to remove all traces of old locking
compound from the threads.
b If necessary, clean up and renovate the under surface of
the bolt head using an oil stone. Thoroughly degrease
afterwards.
16 Install the outer shells of bearings 22 over the ends of
crankshaft 9 which project through holding flange 3.
17 Install snap rings 20 into the grooves in the holding
flange from which they originated.
Note: If a damaged snap ring is being renewed, be sure to fit
a new one of the same thickness as the original.
If the hub 1, spindle 2, holding flange 3 of any of the
crankshaft/reduction gear assemblies have been renewed it
will be necessary to adjust the axial clearance of bearing 22
(see Setting-up Procedures) before proceeding to step 18.
18 Fit a distance piece 14 over the end of each crankshaft
