Axial Clearance of Taper Bearings 22 (continued)
3 Gently tap the snap ring using Special Tool IV.
4 Use a feeler gauge to measure the clearance between
snap ring 20 and bearing 22 outer shell. Calculate the
maximum thickness "X" of snap ring required by adding
together the thickness of the installed snap ring and the
feeler gauge thickness. Remove the installed snap ring.
5 Select and fit a snap ring whose thickness is between
"X" and "X" - 0.05 mm.
6 Repeat steps 1 to 5 for the other two taper bearings.
