2 SmartClass E1 Tester Remote Control Reference Guide
Introduction
The remote control feature is an option. In order to remotely control a Smart-
Class E1 Tester, you must purchase the SmartClass Remote Control Option
(part number CSC-E1-RC).
For information about purchasing options for the E1Tester E1 Tester, contact
your JDSU representative or your local JDSU sales office. You can also contact
JDSU through the company web site, www.jdsu.com.
Logging into the unit
To login the unit
1 Connect a USB cable from the PC to the E1 Tester’s USB port.
2 Open a HyperTerminal session.
3 Create a new connection and specify the following settings:
4 Type login and then press Enter.
The login is case sensitive.
5 Enter the following user name and password:
user name: customer
password: customer
You are logged in.

Parity None
Stop bits 1
