This document describes the JBS-210 Bluetooth CD Music System with Digital AM/FM Stereo Receiver and Remote Control.

Function Description

The JBS-210 is a versatile audio system designed for musical enjoyment, offering multiple playback options including CD, Bluetooth, AM/FM radio, and auxiliary input. It features a digital AM/FM stereo receiver, a CD player compatible with commercial CDs and self-compiled CD-R/RW discs, and Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio streaming from compatible devices. The system includes a remote control for convenient operation and offers various playback modes for CDs, such as Repeat 1, Repeat All, and Random. It also supports programming a sequence of CD tracks. The unit incorporates an alarm clock function with options to wake to a beeping alarm, CD, or radio (AM/FM), and a snooze feature for temporary alarm interruption. A sleep timer is also included, allowing the unit to automatically turn off after a designated period. The system is equipped with a headphone jack for private listening and an auxiliary input jack for connecting external audio devices like MP3 players. Usage Features

  • Power On/Off (Standby Mode): The unit can be turned ON or OFF (into standby mode) using the POWER/STANDBY button on the main unit or remote control. In standby mode, the LCD displays the current time.
  • Clock Setting: The clock can be set to either 12-hour or 24-hour format. The TIME SET button on the main unit or remote control is used to adjust hours and minutes. Backup batteries help retain settings during power interruptions.
  • Alarm Operation (Remote Control Only):
    • Setting Alarm: Press and hold the ALARM button to set the alarm time, wake-up source (radio AM/FM, CD, or beeping alarm), and alarm volume level.
    • Activating/Deactivating Alarm: Tap the ALARM button to toggle the alarm function ON or OFF.
    • Alarm Behavior: The alarm sounds for 60 minutes and then resets for the next day. It can be stopped immediately by pressing the Power button. The beeping alarm features a crescendo volume.
    • Snooze Function: Pressing the SNOOZE button temporarily stops the alarm for 9 minutes. This feature is active for 60 minutes after the original alarm time.
  • Radio Operation:
    • Mode Selection: Select AM or FM mode using the MODE button.
    • Tuning: Manual tuning is done with the TUNE- / TUNE+ buttons. Auto search for stations is initiated by pressing and holding the TUNE- / TUNE+ buttons.
    • Presets: Up to 30 FM and 20 AM stations can be stored. Use the MEMORY button to save stations and PRESET+/- buttons to select preset numbers. Recalling presets is done by repeatedly pressing PRESET+/-.
    • FM Stereo/Mono: The ST./MONO button on the remote control switches between stereo and mono reception for FM radio.
    • Reception Tips: For AM, rotate the unit for best signal. For FM, fully extend the wire antenna.
  • CD Player Operation:
    • Loading CD: Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD tray, place a CD with the printed side up, and press the button again to close.
    • Playback: Press PLAY/PAUSE to start/pause playback.
    • Track Navigation: Use SKIP NEXT / SKIP PREVIOUS buttons to change tracks. Press and hold these buttons to search within a track.
    • Stop: Press the STOP button to stop playback.
    • Play Modes (Remote Control Only): Repeatedly press the PLAY MODE button to cycle through Repeat 1 (single track repeat), Repeat All (all tracks repeat), and Random (random track order).
    • Programmed Playback: In STOP mode, use the MEMORY button to program up to 20 tracks in a desired sequence.
  • Bluetooth Operation:
    • Pairing: Select Bluetooth mode using the MODE button. The unit will enter search mode if not previously paired. Enable Bluetooth on your device, search for "JBS-210," and select it. Enter passcode "0000" if prompted.
    • Playback: Once paired, music can be streamed wirelessly. Use PLAY/PAUSE and SKIP NEXT / SKIP PREVIOUS buttons to control playback.
    • Re-pairing: To pair with a new device, press and hold the PAIR button for 3 seconds or turn off Bluetooth on the currently paired device.
  • Auxiliary Input Operation: Connect external audio devices to the AUX IN jack using a 3.5mm stereo audio cable. Select AUX mode using the MODE button.
  • Volume Control: Adjust volume using the VOLUME control knob on the main unit or VOL+/- buttons on the remote control.
  • EQ Modes (Remote Control Only): Press the EQ button to select from preset equalizer modes: ROCK, JAZZ, POP, CLASSIC, and OFF.
  • Mute Function (Remote Control Only): Press the MUTE button to temporarily silence the sound output. Press again or use VOL+/- to resume.
  • Sleep Timer (Remote Control Only): Tap the SLEEP button to set a timer (120, 90, 60, 30, 20, or 10 minutes) after which the unit will automatically turn off. Tap repeatedly until "OFF" to cancel.
  • Headphone Use: Plug headphones into the HEADPHONE JACK for private listening. This disconnects the built-in speakers.
  • Display Brightness (Remote Control Only): The DIMMER button adjusts display brightness through BRIGHT, DIM, and MEDIUM settings in both power-on and standby modes.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • Clean the unit with a dry cloth. Avoid liquid cleaners, aerosols, solvents, or detergents.
    • For dusty cabinets, use a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use wax or polish sprays.
    • For dirty or smudged front panels, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid abrasive cloths or polishes.
    • Never allow water or other liquids to get inside the unit.
    • For CD playback issues due to dirt, wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cleaning cloth.
  • Battery Replacement:
    • Clock Backup: Replace 2 x AA batteries in the compartment on the bottom of the main unit, following polarity markings. Do not disconnect AC power during replacement to avoid losing settings.
    • Remote Control: Replace the CR2025 3V lithium battery by sliding out the battery holder, ensuring correct polarity.
  • Troubleshooting: A guide is provided for common issues like no power, low volume, poor radio reception, CD playback problems, and distorted sound. Customer service contact information is available for further assistance.
  • Resetting the Unit: If the system becomes unresponsive or erratic, unplug the AC-DC adaptor, remove all batteries, wait 60 seconds, then reconnect. This resets the unit, but clock, alarm, and radio presets will need to be re-entered.
  • Speaker Protection: The unit is equipped with non-skid rubber 'feet' to prevent movement. It is recommended to apply small self-adhesive felt pads to the bottom of these feet before placing the product on fine wooden furniture, as certain polishes or sprays may cause the rubber to soften and leave marks.
