Removing/Fitting the Hydrostatic
Transmission
Hydrostatic Machines
• Loosen the idler’s spring (1).
• Remove the fan (2); it is held in place by a circlip.
• Wiggle the drive belt off (3).
• Remove the oil tank (4).
• Loosen the brake cable spring and remove the
brake cable from the brake lever (hidden under
the oil tank).
• Loosen the hydrostatic transmission link (5) in
the forward ball joint.
• Remove the screws (6) that hold the arm.
• Remove the clutch control (7) and its spring.
• Jack up the machine in front of the rear frame
and remove the rear wheels.
• Remove the transmission cover.
Repair Instructions
Removing/Fitting the Gearbox
FR 13, FR 2111
• Jack up the machine in front of the rear frame
and remove the rear wheels.
• Remove the cover over the gearbox.
• Loosen the idler’s spring (1).
• Loosen the clutch cable (2) and wiggle the belt
from the gearbox pulley.
• Remove the clutch and brake cables (3 and 4).
• Place a garage jack under the gearbox and
loosen its five attaching screws (5).

• Lower the garage jack and pull out the gearbox.
• Fit the gearbox in the reverse order.
• Make sure that after fitting, the clutch, brake, and
gear cables are properly adjusted (see Checking
and Adjusting the Brake Cable, Checking and
Adjusting the Gearbox, and Checking and
Adjusting the Clutch).
