Inspect the cogs on the tricycle and clean with
degreaser and rag. Remove any dirt or grime
from the cogs and hub/gear shiing assembly.
Install the chains back onto the tricycle and test.
If you cannot or unable remove the chains a
small brush can be used to clean the chains but
may take more me and less eecve.
When pressure is applied the
chain becomes slack
Loose or worn xings on hub
assembly or frame
Remove the nuts and hub guide plates (one
maybe yellow the other brown) on the non-drive
side of the hub axle. Check that they have a
serrated surface. If these are smooth on the
inside replace with new ones (available as
Shimano spares from a reputable cycle shop).
Tension the chain and reassemble the parts onto
the axle and ghten (a socket or ring spanner is
best pracce).
