15 Channels and frequencies
Regulations for the useof VHF radios varies from country to country.
Check thenational radio requirements for VHF radio operators and ensure
this radio conforms to allthe localregulations,prior to use.
The channel frequencies listedin this manualreflect only as they are
available anddisplayedon the radio.
Some previously available channels may not beavailable for usein your
region.
For example,Channel23, 84 and86are no longer used for either Maritime
Safety Information (MSI) or Radio MedicalAdvice.
Due to theintroductionof new services onfrequencies that were previously
usedby maritime voice communications,you must refer to your local
regulations to findout whichchannels you canuse.
Thesemaritime frequency channelchanges commenced1 January 2017.
Thiswillbe a gradualandongoing process, withdifferent regulations around
the world.
The new four digit channel number format is not available onthis radio.
Simplex use of theship station (transmit side) of what wasthe international
duplex channelis markedas “A”on the radio. The new channelformat adds
the number 10in front of thechannel(for example,channel5A will bethe
