Acquire cables and connectors:

allowed for each cable. Choose
the length of the cable based
on the distance between the
hardware components being
connected.
NOTE: The Ethernet cables to
connect to the RJ-45 network
ports on EX4400-24P,
EX4400-24MP, EX4400-48P, and
EX4400-48MP switches provide
90-W power over 4-pair wire. To
ensure that the cables do not
exceed the rated temperature and
ampacity and to ensure proper
operaon, the cables must meet
the following specicaons related
to deployment, temperature rise,
category, IEEE, UL, NEC, and local
electric codes:
• The cables must be rated for
IEEE 802.3 BT, TIA standards,
and UL-LP.
• The cables must follow NEC
725.144 arcle and local
electric code.
• The operang temperature of
the cable must be rated at
15° C more than the ambient
temperature.
