1. Attach the ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to the ESD point on the front
of the chassis (see Figure 105 on page 248 and Figure 106 on page 248).

2. Either remove the cover from the available RCB slot (see Figure 107 on page 248) or remove the failing
RCB (see “Removing a PTX10000 Routing and Control Board” on page 250).

3. Remove the new RCB from the electrostatic bag and inspect it for any damage before installing it into
the chassis.
