NOTE: One person must be available to lift the rack-mount tray while another
secures the rack-mount tray to the rack.
CAUTION: If you are mounting multiple units on a rack, mount the heaviest
unit at the bottom of the rack and mount the other units from the bottom of
the rack to the top in decreasing order of the weight of the units.
To mount the controller on two posts of a rack:
1. Remove the controller from the shipping carton (see “Unpacking WLC100 Wireless
LAN Controllers” on page 28).
NOTE: Wireless controllers are shipped with rubber feet attached. The
rubber feet are necessary to stabilize the controllers on a desk or other
level surface.
2. Place the controller on a flat, stable surface with the Juniper Networks logo embossed
on the top cover facing up.
3. Unpack the rack-mount tray, the two system lock brackets, the power adapter lock
bracket, and the four rack-mount screws provided in the separately orderable
rack-mount kit.
4. Place the controller and its power supply adapter in the rack-mount tray.
5. Secure the controller to the rack-mount tray by using the two system lock brackets
and secure the power supply adapter by using the power adapter lock bracket as
shown in Figure 4 on page 32. Tighten the screws by using the Phillips (+) screwdriver,
number 2.
