8. M-Bus Master modules
The modules are easily mounted in the
M-Bus Master bracket.
M-Bus Modem module
To be mounted in the M-Bus Master and
connected to a standard PSTN telephone
line.
The M-Bus Modem is a self-dial modem.
When it calls up, it establishes a open
communication line between the station’s
PC and the M-Bus system. It is thereby
possible to carry out remote reading of
a complete M-Bus system.
After installation, the modem must be
activated with a forced call. Press both
buttons on the M-Bus Master for at least
10 seconds – until “Call” is displayed.

M-Bus Master with cascade module
M-Bus Cascade module
Allows an increase of the number of
Slaves in a network and makes it possible
to extend the cable length up to 12.000
meters. The module is mounted in an
M-Bus Master. The M-Bus Master and
module must be supplied with 230 VAC.
Terminals 24 and 25 of the cascade
unit provide connection for the next
38 MULTICAL
®
energy meters with M-Bus
Slaves.
Terminals 53 and 54 are connected to the
existing network towards the first M-Bus
Master. See paragraph 9.
