8 Parts counting
Before the balance can count parts, it must know the average part weight (i.e.
reference). Proceed by putting on a certain number of the parts to be counted. The
balance determines the total weight and divides it by the number of parts, the so-
called reference quantity. Counting is then carried out on the basis of the calculated
average piece weight.
As a rule:
The higher the reference quantity the higher the counting exactness.
The average piece weight can only be determined by stable weighing
values.
If weighing values are under zero, the piece counter display shows a
negative number of items.
The precision of the average unit weight can be increased at any time
while units are being counter by inputting the displayed number of units
and confirming by or (in CFS 50K-3 models). After the reference
optimization sounds a signal tone. As the additional pieces increase the
base for the calculation, the reference also becomes more exact.
