Note on Global Message Filtering
Jumpers J9 J10 J11 shorted in various combinations on the CIM-LINK module filter
global messages as outlined in the table. Note the following global message filtering
conventions:
Filter messages in both directions short the designated jumpers on the CIM-LINK
modules on the master and subordinate communication loops
Filter messages in one direction short the designated jumpers on the CIM-LINK
module where the message originates
Example of Global Message Filtering
As an example, to block global time zone message transmissions from a subordinate
communication loop to a master communication loop but allow global time zone message
transmissions from the global master communication loop to the subordinate
communication loop, jumper J10 would be shorted on the CIM-LINK module located on the
subordinate communication loop.
Global message filtering should be used with caution.
