5.7 Cable Routing on the Patient
The maximum length of the cable between the Minicutter and accessories is 5 m.
Risk of burns from stray currents!
HF current
focused on small areas can result in burns.
During simultaneous use of the monopolar and bipolar application ensure that the respective lines have a
minimum distance of 10 cm to each other. The lines must be laid out loosely and without loops.
The expected
current paths from each active electrode to the corresponding neutral electrode must not
overlap or intersect. To this end, always place each neutral electrode in the immediate vicinity of the
operation field.
The patient cables should be arranged so that
contact with the patient or other cables is avoided.
Temporarily unused active electrodes should be placed in a position away from the patient.
5.8 Putting Down HF Instruments
Danger of unintentional activation of HF current!
Accidental actuation of an
activation element or malfunction of the unit or accessories may lead to
uncontrolled activation of the generator.
Unintentional HF activation during active function may also occur if the bipolar instrument is placed on
the patient and thus comes into cont
act with tissue. Therefore, please note:
•
The electrosurgical instrument used must always be kept insulated from unintentional contact with
tissue, similarly low-resistance materials (e. g. liquids) or from with the metallic trocar sleeve when
applying the HF surgery instrument.
•
In the intervals between use do not place temporarily unused instruments on the patient.
•
If an activation sound is audible although no current has been intentionally activated, then there is a
system malfunction. The I/0 button allows turning off the unit so that it cannot emit any energy.
The activation sound always accompanying HF activation is an important safety element. It can be
lowered but not deactivated.
5.9 General Safety Information
The unit may be combined with other electro-medical units only by the manufacturer or with the
manufacturer's consent.
The electrosurgical unit may interfere with other electro-medical devices.
Exclusively bipolar application of a device obviates the need for application of the neutral electrode for this unit.
