Error Code Number And Message Required Action(s)
Operator Action
Press the C (clear/cancel) key to clear the message
and normal operation of the scanner can be
performed if the following step is taken: Select an
Application Mode that does not utilize the Document
Printer, or disable the Document Printer via function
code F40–42 as suggested by the accompanying
error message “E236 Turn Off Accessory;” if the
current Application Mode does utilize the Document
Printer or it has not been disabled via function code
F40–42, the error message “E216 Printer Hardware
Error” will be displayed when the Run key is pressed.
If the error message persists or the desired
Application Mode utilizes the Document Printer,
contact the system administrator.
System Administrator Action
If required, perform the controlled power-down
sequence to clear the error status (the error status will
remain if only the C key is pressed). Verify correct
operation. If the error message persists, call service.

code F60 as suggested by the accompanying error

Application Mode does utilize the Bar Code Reader or
it has not been disabled via function code F60, the
error message “E217 Bar Code Hardware Error” will
be displayed when the Run key is pressed. If the error
message persists or the desired Application Mode
utilizes the Bar Code Reader, contact the system
administrator.
