1 Rocker arm position in ignition TDC 2 Rocker arm position in overlap TDC

Step 1

u Check if cylinder A1 is in TDC overlap position. If not, turn the crankshaft another 360°.

u Verify TDC overlap position again.

Step 2

u Rotate crankshaft in direction of rotation with turning device to index 2.

u Set valve clearance for cylinders A7, A8 and B2, B4. (For more information see: Checking valve

clearance, page 74.) , (For more information see: Setting valve clearance, page 74.)

Step 3

u Pass flywheel groove index 6.

Step 4

u Pass flywheel groove index 3.

Step 5

u Stop at flywheel groove index 4.

u Set valve clearance for cylinders A3, A5 and B6, B8. (For more information see: Checking valve

clearance, page 74.) , (For more information see: Setting valve clearance, page 74.)

Step 6

u Pass flywheel groove index 5.
