8.6.4.8: Cleaning and condition of the Machine Room
Procedure Note
8.6.4.8.1: Sweep the machine room floor.
Clean up any oil or grease.
8.6.4.8.2: Parts should be neatly organized and
stored in a cabinet.
8.6.4.8.3: Remove any flammable liquids which have
a flashpoint of less than 110°F (44°C).
8.6.4.8.4: Check to ensure the machine room
door is closed and locked.
8.6.4.8.5: Do not use machinery or control spaces
located in the hoistway for storage.
Notify a supervisor if water is present.
Used parts should be discarded.
Oily rags should be discarded according
to hazardous material guidelines.
