3.2 Safety regulations for erection and use
– The scaffold may only be erected, taken down and used by personnel who are
fully familiar with the content of this installation and user manual.
– At least two workers must work together to erect the scaffold.
– The scaffold may only be erected and used on level and firm surfaces that can
carry the weight of the scaffold.
– Use only original parts of the scaffold system that are undamaged and in proper
working order.
– Before using the scaffold, the castors must be blocked by pushing down the
brake lever and all scaffold components must be inspected for proper erection,
assembly and functionality.
– All work must be carried out by standing on a working platform.
– Jumping on the working platform is prohibited.
– Do not lean over the railings or use them to push off against.
– Do not use the scaffold at winds over strength 6 (~ 45 km/h). At wind speed over
strength 6, dismantle the scaffold, or move it to a sheltered location where it must
be secured against tipping. At wind of strength 6, there is a resistance when
walking against the wind.
– Platforms on which workers will be standing must be equipped with a three-sided
side guard consisting of rail braces, cross beams and circumferential board planks
3. Safety instructions
3.1 Applicable regulations
The regulations of EN 1004 apply to the erection, dismantling, stability and use of
the working scaffold.
2.2 Improper use
The working scaffold may only be used for the purpose specied in 2.1 (proper use).
Any other use is deemed improper pursuant to the German Product Safety Act of the
08.11.2011. Also deemed improper is any use of the scaffold without due regard to the
standards and guidelines referred to in this installation and user manual. Improper use
includes:
– Installation of bridges between the mobile scaffold and a building or another
construction.
– Connection of several mobile scaffolds to form a single platform or scaffold.
– Use of the scaffold as a climbing aid (ladder) to access other scaffolds.
– Attachment and use of lifting gear attached to the scaffold.
