Remove the front brake linings. x ( p. 110)
Move the brake fluid reservoir mounted on the handlebar to a horizontal position.
Remove screws 1.
Remove cover 2 with membrane 3.
Press the brake piston back to its basic position and make sure that no brake fluid over-
flows from the brake fluid reservoir.
Mount the front brake linings. x ( p. 111)
Correct the brake fluid level to level A.
Guideline
Dimension A (brake fluid level below top
edge of container)
5 mm (0.2 in)
Brake fluid DOT 4 / DOT 5.1 ( p. 182)
Position the cover with the membrane. Mount and tighten screws.
Info
Clean up overflowed or spilt brake fluid immediately with water.
11.10Checking free travel of foot brake lever
Warning
Danger of accidentsBrake system failure.
If there is no free travel on the foot brake lever, pressure builds up on the rear brake circuit. The rear brake can fail due to over-
heating. Adjust free travel on foot brake lever according to specifications.
