16.1Checking the engine oil level

The engine oil level can be checked on a cold or hot engine.
– Park the vehicle on a horizontal surface.

The engine is at operating temperature.
– Check the engine oil level.

After switching off the engine, wait one minute before checking the level.
The engine oil reaches the middle of the viewer A.
» When the engine oil does not reach the middle of the viewer A:
– Add engine oil. ( p. 156)

The engine is cold.
– Check the engine oil level.
The engine oil reaches the bottom of the viewer B.
» When the engine oil does not reach the bottom of the viewer B:
– Add engine oil. ( p. 156)
