Main work
– Move the handlebar to the straight-ahead position. Move the
fork legs to and fro in the direction of travel.
Play should not be detectable on the steering head bearing.
» If there is detectable play:
– Adjust the steering head bearing play. ( p. 56)
– Move the handlebar to and fro over the entire steering range.
It must be possible to move the handlebar easily over the
entire steering range. There should be no detectable detent
positions.
» If detent positions are detected:
– Adjust the steering head bearing play. ( p. 56)
– Check the steering head bearing and adjust if neces-
sary.
Finishing work
– Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. ( p. 49)

– Take off the handlebar cushion.
