Faults Possible cause Action
The engine does not turn when
the start button is pressed

12-V battery discharged – Charge the 12-V battery. ( p. 174)
Fuse 1, 3, 4, or 7 is blown – Change the fuses of individual power
consumers. ( p. 180)
No ground connection present – Check the ground connection.
Engine turns only if the clutch
lever is drawn
The vehicle is in gear – Shift the transmission to neutral posi-
tion.
The vehicle is in gear and the
side stand is folded out

Engine overheats Too little coolant in cooling sys-

– Check the cooling system for leakage.
