Always verify that the operating setting (ACTIVE or PASSIVE) selected on the 12XT enclosure
matches with the preset loaded in the LA4 amplified controller.
Inverting between ACTIVE and PASSIVE selection can cause irreversible damage
to the enclosure
transducers. Any damage caused by such an inversion will not be covered by warranty.
The 12XT enclosure is equipped with two Speakon
®
NL4 connectors wired in parallel, allowing connection with a
second 12XT enclosure in parallel using one of the L-ACOUSTICS
®
SP.7, SP10, or SP25 cables.
The same cables are recommended to connect the 12XT enclosure to the LA4 amplified controller (Figure 5).
A maximum of one PASSIVE 12XT enclosure can be connected per LA4 output channel.
A maximum of two ACTIVE 12XT enclosures can be connected to each of the LA4 1 and 3 output
channels.
The L-ACOUSTICS
®
wiring convention is as follows:

To ensure both high performance and safety, L-ACOUSTICS
®
recommends the exclusive use of
high-quality, fully insulated speaker cables made of stranded copper wire.
In order to preserve a high damping factor it is desirable to keep loudspeaker cables as short as
possible and with a gauge offering low resistance per unit length.
