Nota:OncethecomputerstartsupandenterstheWindowsenvironment,usethepropershutdown
proceduretoturnthecomputeroff.Oncethecomputerisoff,reattachthebatteryandrestartthe
computer.Ifthecomputerdoesnotstartwiththebatteryreattached,removethebatteryandagain
startwithstep2.Ifthecomputerstartswithacpowerbutdoesnotstartwhenthebatteryisattached,
calltheCustomerSupportCenterforsupport.
3.Whilethecomputerisoff,removeallsourcesofpower(batteryandtheacpoweradapter).Removeall
externaldevicesthatareattachedtoyourcomputer(keyboard,mouse,printer,scanner,andsoon).
Repeatstep2.Ifstep2isunsuccessful,continuewithstep4.
Nota:Thefollowingstepsinvolveremovingstaticsensitivecomponentsfromyourcomputer.Makesure
thatyouareproperlygroundedandremoveallsourcesofpowerattachedtothecomputer.Ifyouare
uncomfortableorunsureaboutremovingcomponentspleasecalltheCustomerSupportCenterfor
assistance.
4.Whilethecomputerisoff,removeallsourcesofpowerandexternalhardware.Removeanynon-original
memorymoduleaddedtoyourcomputer.Afterremovingtheextramemorymoduleandreseatingthe
originalmemorymodule,repeatstep2.Ifthecomputerstilldoesnotturnon,consulttheusermanual
forothercustomer-replaceablecomponentsthatareattachedtoyourcomputer.
Ifthecomputerstilldoesnotstartup,calltheCustomerSupportCenterandaCustomerSupportSpecialist
willassistyou.
Spillsonthekeyboard
Withamobilecomputer,thereareincreasedchancesofspillingliquidsonthekeyboard.Becausemost
liquidsconductelectricity,liquidspilledonthekeyboardcouldcreatenumerousshortcircuits,potentially
causingirreparabledamagetoyourcomputer.
Ifyouspillsomethingonyourcomputer:

Althoughyoumightlosesomedataorworkbyturningoffthecomputerimmediately,leavingthecomputer

quicklyyoustopthecurrentfrompassingthroughthecomputerthemorelikelyyouwillreducedamage
fromshortcircuits.
3.Waituntilyouarecertainthatalltheliquidisdrybeforeturningonyourcomputer.

•Message:0175:BadCRC1,stopPOSTtask.
Solution:TheEEPROMchecksumisnotcorrect(block#6).Havethecomputerserviced.
•Message:0177:BadSVPdata,stopPOSTtask.
Solution:ChecksumofthesupervisorpasswordintheEEPROMisnotcorrect.Thesystemboard
shouldbereplaced.Havethecomputerserviced.
•Message:0182:BadCRC2.EnterLenovoSetupandloadSetupdefaults.
Solution:ChecksumoftheCRC2settingintheEEPROMisnotcorrect.PressF1togotoLenovo
Setup.PressFn+F9andthenpressEntertoloadthedefaultsetting.PressFn+F10andthenpress
Entertorestartthesystem.
