Is a connected host port Host Link Status LED on?
Is a connected port Expansion Port Status LED on?
Is a connected port’s Network Port link status LED on?
Answer Possible reasons Actions
Yes System functioning properly. No action required (see Link LED note: page 68).
No The link is down. • Check cable connections and reseat if necessary.
• Inspect cable for damage.
• Swap cables to determine if fault is caused by a
defective cable. Replace cable if necessary.
• Verify that the switch, if any, is operating properly. If
possible, test with another port.
• Verify that the HBA is fully seated, and that the PCI slot
is powered on and operational.
• In the SMC, review event logs for indicators of a
specific fault in a host data path component.
• Contact Lenovo for assistance.
