ConguringRAID
TheRAIDcongurationfeaturethatispartoftheEasyStartupprogramenablesyoutoviewandchangeRAID
settingsforsupportedRAIDcontrollers.Throughthisfeature,youhavetheabilitytocongureeachinstalled
controller.Theprogramautomaticallydetectsthenumberofdiscscurrentlyattachedtothecontroller,
determinesthepossibleRAIDcongurationsthatcanbecongured,andpromptsyouthroughthestepsto
congureoneormorediscarrayswithorwithouthot-sparedrives.Asyoucongureeachcontrolleryouwill
begiventheoptiontosavetheRAIDcongurationsettingstoaRAIDresponsele,whichyoucanuseon
othersimilarlyconguredLenovoservers.Thismethodsatisesmostusers'needs.
Typicaloperatingsysteminstallation
WhenyouselectInstalloperatingsystem,youwillbepromptedforinformationrequiredfortheinstallation.
Thepromptsvarydependingontheoperatingsystemselected.Thissectiondescribesthetasksassociated
withatypicalWindowsoperatingsysteminstallation.Eachtaskmustbecompletedinorderbeforemoving
tothenexttask.
