Toremovethesystemfans,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.SeeRemovingtheservercover.
3.Removetheheatsinkassembly.See“Removingtheheatsinkassembly”onpage71.
4.Disconnectthesystemfancablesonthesystemboard.SeeFigure8“Locatingotherconnectorson
thesystemboardwithanonboard1068ESASRAID”onpage33.
5.Carefullyliftthesystemfanstraightuptoremoveitoutoftheserver.Then,placeitonastatic-protective
surface.
6.Ifyouareinstructedtoreturnthesystemfanstothemanufacturer,followallpackaginginstructions,and
useanypackagingmaterialsthataresuppliedtoyouforshipping.
