1.Removeallexternalmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedto
theserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage75.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage75.
4.Removetherisercardassembly2.See“Replacingtherisercard”onpage91.
5.LocatethethreeplasticpinsonthesystemboardforsecuringtheM.2storagemodule.Removeany
partsanddisconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouraccesstothethreeplasticpins.
6.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainstheM.2storagemoduletoanyunpaintedsurfaceon
theoutsideoftheserver.Then,taketheM.2storagemoduleoutofthepackage.

7.InstalltheM.2storagedriveintothedriveslotontheM.2storagemodule.Pivotthelatch1tomoveit
toanappropriateposition.Then,installthescrewtosecuretheM.2storagedrive.
