DeletingRAIDvolumes
ThissectiondescribeshowtousetheIntelRapidStorageTechnologyenterpriseoptionROMconfiguration
utilitytodeleteRAIDvolumes.
TodeleteRAIDvolumes,dothefollowing:
1.PressCtrl+IwhenpromptedtoentertheIntelRapidStorageTechnologyenterpriseoptionROM
configurationutilityduringsystemstartup.
2.UsetheupanddownarrowkeystoselectDeleteRAIDVolumeandpressEnter.
3.UsethearrowkeystoselecttheRAIDvolumetobedeletedandpressDelete.
4.Whenprompted,pressYtoconfirmthedeletionoftheselectedRAIDvolume.DeletingaRAIDvolume
willresettheharddiskdrivestonon-RAID.
5.AfterdeletingaRAIDvolume,youcan:
•Returntostep2todeleteadditionalRAIDvolumes.
•See“CreatingRAIDvolumes”onpage31forRAIDvolumecreation.
•UsetheupanddownarrowkeystoselectExitandpressEnter.
Resettingdiskstonon-RAID
Thissectiondescribeshowtoresetyourharddiskdrivestonon-RAID.
Toresetyourharddiskdrivestonon-RAID,dothefollowing:
1.PressCtrl+IwhenpromptedtoentertheIntelRapidStorageTechnologyenterpriseoptionROM
configurationutilityduringsystemstartup.
2.UsetheupanddownarrowkeystoselectResetDiskstoNon-RAIDandpressEnter.
3.Usethearrowkeysandthespacekeytomarkindividualphysicalharddiskdrivestobereset,andthen
pressEntertocompletetheselection.
4.Whenprompted,pressYtoconfirmtheresetaction.
5.Afterresettingtheharddiskdrivestonon-RAID,youcan:
•See“DeletingRAIDvolumes”onpage32
forRAIDvolumedeletion.
•See“CreatingRAIDvolumes”onpage31forRAIDvolumecreation.
•UsetheupanddownarrowkeystoselectExitandpressEnter.
Updatingthefirmware
Thefirmwareintheserverisperiodicallyupdatedandthelatestfirmwareisalwaysavailablefordownloading
fromtheLenovoWebsite.
Gotohttp://www.lenovo.com/driversandfollowtheinstructionsontheWebpagetocheckforthelatest
leveloffirmware,suchastheBIOSupdatesanddevicedrivers.
Whenyoureplaceadeviceintheserver,youmighthavetoeitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestversionof
thefirmwarethatisstoredinmemoryonthedeviceorrestorethepreexistingfirmwarefromadisketteor
CDimage.

•TheBIOSROMfileisstoredinflashonthesystemboard.
•TheonboardSATAsoftwareRAIDfirmwareisintegratedintotheBIOSROMonthesystemboard.
