7.3.1 Settings in the programming mode
Digital inputs and outputs (terminals I/O1 ... I/O8) are configured in the
programming mode .

Set the DIP switches according to the
terminal assignment I/O1 ... I/O8:
l DIP switches ON: Terminal
configured as output
l DIP switches OFF: Terminal
configured as input
An error message is
displayed (LED
ERROR" on), if a
terminal is configured
as output and a HIGH
level is applied.

Setting sequence:
1. Switch on the power supply for the terminal extension.
2. Set DIP switch 12 to ON (programming mode).
3. Configure the terminals I/O1 ... I/O8 using DIP switches 1 ... 8.
4. Set DIP switch 12 to OFF (operating mode).
The configuration of the inputs/outputs is completed.
5. Switch off the power supply for the terminal extension.
The programming mode is quit only after the power supply has benn
switched off.
