TheFriulmedchambervacuumpackingmachinesareusedtovacuumpackproductsinsidespecialbagsor
containers.Forthispurpose,thevacuumbagcontainingtheproductisplacedinsidethevacuumchamber.Once
thelidisclosedthevacuumpumpisactivated,whichdrawstheairfromthechamber.Afterafewseconds,the
depressioncreatedinsidethechamberallowsthelidtoremainclosed.Oncethevacuumiscomplete,thebag
ishermeticallysealedbymeansofasealingbar.Subsequently,theairentersthechamberonceagain,thereby
allowingthelidtobeopenedautomatically.Thepackedproductcanthenberemovedfromthechamber.
Anothermethodofvacuumpackingproductsconsistsinusingspecialrigidcontainers,insidewhichthevacu-
umiscreatedbyusingadevicethatconnectsthemachinetothecontainer.Spacepermitting,thecontaineris
placeddirectlyinsidethechamber.Theairisdrawnfromthecontainerthroughaspecialcheckvalve,whichis
closedoncethevacuumiscomplete.
Certainspecial“embossed”bagsallowthevacuumtobecre-
atedoutsidethevacuumchamber,therebyallowingproducts
withdimensionslargerthanthoseofthevacuumchamber
tobepacked.

