8 Basic configuration
The BPS is configured only via the webConfig tool (see chapter 9).
8.1 Configuring RS 232/RS 422 interface
8.1.1 General information – RS 232/RS 422 interface
The BPS 300i features an integrated RS 232 interface and an integrated RS 422 interface. Both interfaces
are contacted via the HOST / BUS_IN connection; see chapter 7.5.2 "RS 232/RS 422 (HOST / BUS IN)".
The RS 232 interface is active on delivery. Alternatively, the RS 422 interface can be activated. The
currently active interface is indicated in the display.
The baud rate for serial communication is set via the webConfig tool: 4,800 … 115,200 baud.
Factory settings of the interface parameters

Setting the configuration of the interface
Set the parameters for the RS 232/RS 422 interface via the webConfig tool.

8.2 Configuring the switching inputs/outputs
Set the configuration of the switching inputs/outputs via the webConfig tool.

8.3 Configuring the resolution for the position value
Set the parameters for the resolution during position measurement via the webConfig tool.

Set the parameters for velocity monitoring via the webConfig tool.
