3.5 Instructions for Tube Mounting
1. Attention:
The LFSC-iX flowmeters are calibrated for
multiple tubing types and liquid temperatures.
Please check the default factory setting on the
article label. To switch to another calibration set
the Levitronix® Service Software or the user
panel LUI-B.1-02 can be used (see user
manual).
2. For a proper and accurate flow measurement it
is very important that the ultrasonic beam is not
disturbed by particles, dust and air in the
measurement path, which would result in
reflections and lead to a wrong flow
measurement. Specifically, it must be assured
that in the clamp-area between tubing and
sensor no particle or dust is squeezed in during
the clamp-on process.
3. Therefore, check the cleanliness of the surface
area where the ultrasonic beam leaves the
sensor and if necessary clean it with alcohol.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, which could
attack the sensor surface and its parts. Alcohol has
been tested and approved as an adequate cleaning
agent.
4. Check the tubing surface area, which is clamped
into the sensor, for cleanliness and inertness.
Assure that no particle or dust is present. Clean
the tube with alcohol or an adequate cleaning
agent specified by the tubing manufacturer.
5. Properly align the tubing with the clamp area of
the sensor and avoid bending or squeezing the
clamp area.
