Using the fax setup wizard in the printer
Notes:
The setup wizard is available only if no devicebased fax, such as analog, etherFAX, or Fax over IP (FoIP),
is
configured.
These instructions apply only to printers with 2.8inch touchscreen display.
Before using the wizard, make sure that the printer firmware is updated. For more information, see
“Updating firmware” on page 45.
1 From the home screen, touch Fax.
2 To uc h Set up now.
3 Type the fax name, and then touch Next.
4 Enter the fax number and then touch Done.
Using the Settings menu in the printer

From the control panel, navigate to:
Settings > Fax > Fax Setup > General Fax settings
For non-touch-screen printer models, press
to navigate through the settings.
2 Configure the settings.
Using the Embedded Web Server

Open a web browser, and then type the printer IP address in the address
field.
Notes:
View the printer IP address on the home screen. The IP address appears as four sets of numbers
separated by periods, such as 123.123.123.123.
If you are using a proxy server, then temporarily disable it to load the web page correctly.
2 Click Settings > Fax > Fax Setup > General Fax Settings.
3 Configure the settings.
4 Apply the changes.
Setting up the fax function using etherFAX
Notes:
The printer firmware must be updated to the latest version. For more information, see “Updating
firmware” on page 45.
An appropriate license bundle must be installed in your printer. For more information, contact etherFAX.
Make sure that you have an etherFAX account. For more information, go to
https://www.etherfax.net/lexmark.
