FAULT FINDING
1 GENERAL
1.1
1.2
1.3
Because of the simple robust design of the bulkmeter, in most instances fault finding is limited to the
location and rectification of leaks. The following table lists faults that may be more difficult to
diagnose, their possible cause(s) and remedy.
In cases
wher
e the accuracy of the meter is in doubt, testing and calibration as in Chapter 5 Para 13
is to be carried out. If such calibration proves ineffective the bulkmeter should be removed from
service and returned to Liquid Controls for overhaul and repair. If this is not practical, the appropriate
procedures described in Chapter 5 may be carried out by a suitably qualified person providing full
workshop facilities are available.
It must be remembered that the fault table is a guide only and may not cover all possible faults.
Operation and maintenance procedures correctly carried out should keep faults to a minimum.
