The engine might not start due to several reasons: * There's no fuel in the tank, so you should supply fuel. * The fuel tank cap air vent knob and fuel cock knob are not in the “ON” position; turn them to “ON”. * The fuel filter or carburetor is clogged, requiring cleaning. * The oil level is low, so add engine oil. * There's poor spark; in that case, put the 1 in 3 switch to “CHOKE” and pull the recoil starter. * The spark plug is dirty with carbon or wet; remove the carbon or wipe the spark plug dry. * There may be a faulty ignition system.
