How to troubleshoot swing, boom, dipperstick and bucket cylinders on LS tractor?
- BBrad SimsAug 17, 2025
If the swing, boom, dipperstick, and bucket cylinders aren't working on your LS tractor, start by checking the hydraulic fluid level and replenishing if low. Make sure the hydraulic hoses are properly connected and not damaged or kinked. Also, inspect the quick disconnect coupler connections and replace if needed. If the issue persists, the backhoe control valve or tractor main relief valve might be stuck open, or there could be low system pressure from the hydraulic pump, requiring a pressure check and potential repair or replacement. Other potential causes include a broken control valve linkage, a blockage in the hydraulic hose or tubeline, a defective cylinder piston assembly, or a control valve blockage. Each of these should be inspected and addressed accordingly.
