Shunting
DANGER!
Danger of injury!
People can be severely injured by being crushed during
shunting.
X Always make sure that there is nobody between the
MT and semi-trailer/trailer when coupling.
X Always keep eye contact with guiding personnel.
X Never let the semi-trailer/trailer run onto the MT.
X The MT must always be coupled to the stationary
semi-trailer/trailer.
Driving on ramps and inclines
DANGER!
Accident hazard!
When driving on ramps and inclines, the MT can tip or
slide and become uncontrollable.
X Only drive up or down those ramps and inclines that
are signposted as traffic routes and that can be
negotiated safely.
X Be sure that the ground is sufficiently clean and
provides enough traction. Take special care on snow
and ice.
X Drive the vehicle at reduced speed on inclines.
X Drive carefully when crossing steep inclines.
Inspection and maintenance work
DANGER!
Carbon monoxide poisoning!
The motor needs to be running for certain inspection
and maintenance work; for instance when checking the
transmission oil level. In closed rooms, there is the
hazard then of a life-threatening carbon monoxide poi-
soning if the fumes are inhaled.
X Start the engine on in well-ventilated rooms.
X Otherwise, vent the motor's exhausts to the outside.
X If possible, avoid starting the motor in closed rooms.
