Switching on the four-wheel drive for a short while,
with automatic switch-off
The four-wheel drive automatically switches off when the
5th gear is reached. As long as the transmission does not go
to 5th gear, the four-wheel drive remains on.
X To switch it on, press switch 1 down.
3 The switch returns to the original position when you
release it.
3 The four-wheel drive is on; control light 2 is lit.
The four-wheel drive can also be activated for short
periods, for example when starting to drive on slippery
ground.
Switching off the short-term four-wheel drive prematurely
If you used the switch to activate the four-wheel drive – it will
switch off automatically when the 5th gear is reached – you
can proceed as follows to switch it off yourself at an earlier
stage, if necessary.
X Press switch 1 up.
3 The switch latches into position.
X Press switch 1 back to the centre position.
3 The control light 2 goes out.
3 The four-wheel drive is off.
Air-suspended rear axle
You can lower the frame of the MT to mount semi-trailers with
low coupling height. Lowering is done by letting out the air of
the air suspension bellows of the rear axle.
