4.5 Installation of instrument in the measurement station
To obtain correct measurement data you should follow the following instructions:
a) Instrument can be connected to the manifold together with other instruments. Check if
other instruments draw constant flow and do not reverse flow during operation. AE33 does
not interfere with other instruments since it draws constant air flow during measurement,
tape advance and clean air tests.
b) You can provide instruments own inlet connection. The inlet should be protected from the
rain.
c) Appropriate cyclone can be used to limit the particle size (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM10).
d) Instrument should be operated with a bug-screen to avoid debris and insects or possible
water condensation, which can lead to flow meters failure.
e) If the measurement station is operated at the temperature lower than ambient, then all the
tubes should be well insulated to avoid the condensation of water. In such environments it is
recommended to use an air dryer, which reduces the sample air dew point below the station
temperature.
ATTENTION: Flow meters installed in the instrument measure air mass flow.
Any water intake can permanently damage flow meters.
Damage due to water intake into the instrument is not covered by the warranty!
f) Do not place the instrument in the direct flow of the air-conditioner.
g) Clean cyclone and bug-screen regularly.
