Why does my Masport Indoor Fireplace smell like gas in the room?
    • B
      bridget19Aug 12, 2025
If you smell gas, the pipe fittings might be leaking. Check all joints for leaks, including the gas supply system, the pilot light supply tube, the main burner supply tube, and all connections to the control valve. Use ONLY a proper leak check solution. NEVER USE AN OPEN FLAME to check for leaks.

What to do if my Masport Indoor Fireplace pilot will not light even though there is a strong blue spark?
    • T
      Teresa RobertsonAug 16, 2025
If you have a strong blue spark but the pilot won't light, the reasons could be: * There is air in the pilot pipeline. In this case, repeat starting attempts until the air is cleared. * The lighting procedure is incorrect. Follow the instructions in this manual. * There is no gas supply at the heater. Check for closed gas valve(s) or faulty gas supply lines. * The pilot jet is blocked. Clean the jet. * There is no fuel in the LPG system. Replenish the LPG supply.

How to fix black soot forming inside the glass of my Masport Indoor Fireplace?
    • A
      Ashley ReyesAug 20, 2025
If a thin coating of black soot forms inside the glass, it could be due to: * A restricted combustion air supply. Clean all primary and secondary air passageways. * An over-supply of gas. Adjust the gas delivery pressure at the test point. * Logs out of position. Arrange the logs correctly.

Why does my Masport Indoor Fireplace pilot will not light and there is no strong blue spark?
    • C
      christinamillerAug 23, 2025
If the pilot will not light and there is no strong blue spark, it could be due to: * A faulty electrode wire or wire connection(s). Make sure the wire is not shorting and connections are firm at each end. * For ACC models, a faulty battery in the igniter. Fit a new AA alkaline cell in the igniter. (See routine Maintenance). * For ECS models: no mains supply; a faulty handpiece (no indicator light); or the handpiece is OK but there is no receiver indicator light. Restore the mains supply. Fit new batteries. Aim the handpiece at the receiver – move closer to the receiver. Press the start switch beside the receiver. Press the reset switch at the rear and try again.

What to do if my Masport Indoor Fireplace is cycling on and off too rapidly?
    • B
      Becky ObrienAug 27, 2025
If your fireplace is cycling on and off too rapidly (thermostat models only), it could be due to: * A large fire in a small room. Turn the flame down to a lower setting. * Incorrect positioning of the thermostat. Move the hand thermostat or wall thermostat further away from the heater's hot air stream.

Why does my Masport Indoor Fireplace smell of flue gas in the room?
    • L
      Laura MendozaAug 31, 2025
If you smell flue gas in the room, it is likely flue gas spilling from the draught diverter at the rear of the heater. Check for a flue blockage, negative air pressure in the room, or circumstances causing a down-draught.

Why does my Masport Indoor Fireplace pilot stays alight but main burner will not light?
    • N
      nguyentaylorSep 3, 2025
