Itisabsolutelyessentialthattheinstallertestfirestheheaterbeforeleavingthesite.
Iffitted,openthegassupplyvalveattherearoftheheaterandcheckallgasjointsforleakageusingaleak
checksolutionoranelectronic‘sniffer’,NOTanakedflame.
Testfiretheheater,followingthelightinginstructionsonpages2,3and4ofthismanual.
Firstcheckthatthepilot light ignites satisfactorily.Initiallyit may take several attemptsuntiltheair is
purgedfromthepipeline.Onceithaslit,extinguishitagainandverifyinstantre-ignition.
Usingtheappropriateprocedureasdetailedfortheheatermodel,lightthemainburnertoverifysatisfactory
ignitionandcross-lighting.Repeat thisprocedureseveraltimes.Alwayswaittwoor threeminutesafter
turningoffthemainburnerbeforelightingitagain.The mainburnershouldbetestrunfor at least ten
minutes.
Afterthefirehasbeenalightforfiveminuteson‘HIGH’,holdasmokingtaperormatchattheexitofthe
draughthood(behindtheheater)toverify that theflue isdrawingcorrectlyandthatfluegasesarenot
spillingintotheroom.

Ifawallmountedorremotethermostatisfitted,verifythethermostatactionbyturningthesettemperature
aboveandbelowtheroomambienttemperaturetocheckthattheburnerturnsonandoffautomatically.
Handheldremotethermostatsmustpointtowardthereceiverforeffectiveoperation.
Ifafanisfitted,checkitsoperationatallspeeds.
Ifsatisfactoryoperationcannotbeachieved,contacttheRetailerforfurtheradvice.
IMPORTANT.Itistheresponsibilityoftheinstallertoinstructthecustomeronthesafeand
correctoperationoftheappliance,andtoensurethatthisinstructionbookletremainswith
thecustomer.
